Our daughter received these blocks when she was 16 mo. old and absolutely loves them! She stacks them, nests them, and builds sloping steps for her cars to run down. I was worried they would be too advanced for her (since the recommended age is 2 yrs) but I think that the 2 yr recommendation is to be able to sort the blocks by animal type, color etc. We gave this set as a gift to a 1 yr old and she loved it too. The blocks are made of lightweight wood, so they can be lifted easily, but are strong enough for climbing, sitting, and and being thrown as the tower gets knocked down. Melissa & Doug make such great products and this is no exception. Tons of fun and best of all, no batteries or electronic sounds required!

We got these for our 18-month-old for Christmas. She loves them…but her 3-year-old sister and 5-year-old brother do to! Every child seems to be able to do something fun with these. Pretty wonderful for a toy that doesn’t need batteries, and takes up so little space when it’s time to put them away. We love these!

I was looking for an inexpensive construction toy for my 3 year old son. This looked like a fun play set but it is a little lame. The crane falls apart when you spin it because it does not clear the back of the set. I thought the crane would move up and down but it has plastic ‘ropes’ that are fixed and do not move. The ramps detach when you move it. The wrecking ball knocks down the blue shed easily but too easily for my taste. Makes for a high mom/dad maintenance requirement to reset it over and over. The die cast trucks are what you would expect for the price. I expected the toy to be a little on the flimsy side since it was inexpensive I just wish the crane really worked and it held together better.

I purchased this for my 15 month old son a month ago, after finding him playing in his clothes hamper several times. (The hamper is made by the same materials and mode as this playland).

It was a lot larger than i expected, it took up half my dining room since it wouldn’t fit in the kids bedroom.

Set up took about 15 minutes, but that’s only because I couldn’t keep the kids to stop crawling through the tunnels while I velcrowed everything together. As soon as the first tent was out of the box and popped open the kids were crawling though and playing with the basket ball and other balls. They loved it.

Since then my older son has gotten over the initial trill and doesn’t play in the tents anymore, but my toddler still loves to crawl in there and hide to play with other toys, I think his imagination is expanding and this is the perfect hidding place.

Now we are moving houses and I am taking the tent down… i lost the instructions and I cant figure it out, the e-z twist & fold technology is not very user friendly, I’m sure once it will be set up new home for good I dont want to ever fold this again.

I had bought this for my 2 year old nephew but his 6 year old brother loves it as well. It is great for rainy days and they have fun moving the rooms around. They camp, play and take naps in it. If they haven’t destroyed it by now, it must be pretty durable!

Numbers 10 through 20 are not single pieces – which is different from what’s described above. There are actually 32 individual digits (plus the 5 math signs):

3 pieces of number 0

12 of number 1

3 of number 2

2 of numbers 3-9.

The odd digits are either green or yellow, and even digits are red or blue (Except “1″ pieces which also come in red and blue, apparently to be used for the even teen numbers).

My set seems to have a green 1 that should be yellow to make for a nice color pattern (red, green, blue, yellow) from 0-20. Instead the number 19 has a green 1 and yellow 9.

But it seems somebody thought the color scheme through, so maybe I just got an off set.

We bought these and the wooden letters for our son for xmas at 20 months. He loves them and now knew all his numbers and letters before age two…they continue to hold his interest and he plays with them on the fridge while I cook in the kitchen. Only downfall is he still likes to chew on them now and again and the paper coating is certainly not meant to be sucked on! (our fault, not the company’s!)

It would have been nice to have been informed that these pieces are only a few inches long. I assumed by looking at the photos that these were about twice the size, so I was disappointed. My children only played with them once for a little bit and haven’t touched them ever since.
