My great granddaughter was thrilled with this bank. It not only helps her save but is helping with her numbers, and math overall.

I bought this for my 10 year old nephew. He was fascinated with it. Nice quality – thought i would be taller, but he didn’t seem to mind. I’d buy it again.

After reading the reviews other buyers left on the counting money jars that my 4 year old grand-son asked Santa for, I decided if I was going to get one for him from Santa that I’d better order 3 so I’d be sure to get one that worked, so I ordered 3 from this store and then I thought about a bad ‘lot’ of them and ordered one from another store. I was determined to get one that worked and then I could return the bad ones . . .
They came and my eldest grand-daughter happened to be here with me and I let her test them as I opened . . . she added every coin in her head and followed the count, then she reset each and added the exact same coins in different order and the total matched the first . . . then she did it a third time just to be sure. She reset the total and then I would hand her the next one and rebox the one she finished with . . .
When all was said and done, I didn’t have 1 that counted right every time, I had 4 . . . well, no sense returning them, so I had a choice . . . I could give the 3 extra to my two daughters and myself OR I could give them to all 4 grand-children and buy the grand-son another gift for Santa to deliver . . .
I decided in favor of the grand-children (even though I wanted one myself by then) . . . but saw how delighted Kira was with it and knew if she liked it that well, so would Talia.
The grand-children were all delighted! But I want to warn people – this can get expensive! The two youngest hit Aunt Davi up for her change and she had 18 dollars in change in her car . . . then I emptied my car change and their Mom had to empty hers, so Emmy ended up with +14.00 and Johnny ended up with +10.00 . . . thank goodness the two elder grand-children had money of their own to put into their jars and these were perfect gifts to go along with the savings accounts I set up for each of them . . .
I don’t expect a jar to keep counting after a drop, I don’t see much educational value unless they try to add the amount of the coin before inserting it, and I don’t expect the counting mechanism to last long but I love that the counter maintains the count even when changing the battery and that the jar doesn’t allow for subtracting, but can be reset! Would definitely replace these jars and maybe buy more . . . they had so much fun and now, pennies that would be left scattered on the floorboard, ground or floor get scurried away into one bank or another . . .

This thing doesn’t count quarters. Imagine my sons feelings when Mom gave him this for christmas and the thing doesn’t even work. I am not sure if it counts all the other coins each time one is slid in or not.
These ought to be accurate, or taken off the market.
